PUBLIC COMMENT
Neil Hancock said
that the language of Measure B (on the November 4, 2003 ballot) is not very
impartial. He also questioned the
projected $1 million in sales tax revenue from the “big box” retailers proposed
to be located in the targeted area. He
said the proposed businesses will generate an estimated 10,000 car trips per
day. He requested that Council provide
impartial information to the public regarding the measure.
Linell Hardy said
she received a flyer in the mail which showed Councilmembers endorsing Measure
B. The ballot measure language is not
unbiased, she stated, and Council risks having both the election and their
integrity questioned.
