Notice of Election and Notice to Submit Arguments

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election will be held in the City of Cotati on April 13, 2010, and that the following measure(s) will be submitted to the voters:
Measure ____
To prevent potential elimination of the Police Department; restore Police services to 2008 levels; maintain financial viability of the City; prevent cuts to street paving, pothole repair, and park maintenance; restore City hall service hours; return Recreation Programs for seniors and youth; and maintain other City services, shall the City of Cotati enact a one-half cent sales tax, which will sunset in 5 years, and be subject to annual financial audits and public expenditure reports? ____Yes

NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that any written arguments for or against the measure(s) to be submitted to the voters must be filed with the office of the City Clerk, 201 W. Sierra Avenue, Cotati, during normal business hours of the City, no later than 5:30 p.m. on January 25, 2010. Arguments must be accompanied by a Statement of Accuracy, available from the City Clerk, signed and dated by the author(s). Arguments shall not exceed 300 words.
NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that if an argument in favor of and an argument against the measure(s) are submitted, copies will be mailed to the respective authors in order that they may submit a rebuttal argument. Rebuttal arguments must also be accompanied by a Statement of Accuracy, signed and dated by the author(s). The deadline for filing a rebuttal argument will be 5:30 p.m. on February 4, 2010. Rebuttal arguments shall not exceed 250 words.
The polls will be open on April 13, 2010, Election Day, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
