Classes and Programs

Zumba Fitness - Ages 13+

Tuesday, 6:10-7:00pm
Fee: $25/month
Drop in fee: $7/class
Location: Cotati Room (next to Police Department)

Turn exercise into a party! Zumba Fitness is a total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. Please wear athletic shoes and comfortable clothing.

Zumba Gold - Ages 18+

Monday and Friday, 9:30-10:20am NO CLASS JUNE 6th or 10th
June Fees: 13.50/month (once a week), $22.50/month (twice a week)

Get moving at your own pace. Zumba Gold is a Latin dance inspired fitness class that is specially modified for the beginner or the active, older adult. We'll get your whole body moving with low-impact, easy-to-follow steps set to international dance music. Zumba Gold is a fun cardio workout that also incorporates toning and balance. Please wear athletic shoes and comfortable clothing.

Cotati Aikido – Ages 12+

Cotati Aikido Tuesday/Thursday, 6:00-7:00pm (staff & sword), 7:00-8:30pm (empty handed technique), Saturday, 10:00-11:30am (mix class)
Fee: $80/month
Drop in fee: $10/class

Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art. This class will study basic and flowing exercises with the wooden sword (bokken) and 5 foot staff (Jo). The Founder's desire that Aikido teach harmonious blending rather than conflict is emphasized in this class. We will explore the body movement consistent with empty-handed aikido. All skill levels are welcome. No uniform or dogi is required. The instructor, Pete Breeland, with over 30 years of experience with Aiki buki-waza (Aiki weapons techniques), is ranked at 5th dan. From Old, Unwanted Books to Lovely Gifts – Age 12+

This is an eco-friendly, thrifty, and fun craft of repurposing old unwanted books into unique and useful gifts. Class discussion will include getting started materials such as finding appropriate books, basic supplies and tools, construction, and decoration. Your hands on experience in our studio-style class will feature transforming old hard-bound book covers into decorative boxes for many uses such as jewelry, letters, files, and more. You will also learn how to turn old book pages into gift wrapping bows and paper. You will get to take home your projects and learn how to do them again! Instructor provides all materials needed.

Petaluma School of Ballet:

Pre-ballet and Tap – Ages 3-4

Children will learn basic ballet movement with each class beginning with tap for rhythm. They will dance and pretend as they act out stories using dance movement. We use a variety of music to enhance musical rhythms by clapping and listening, using stretching and improvisation while having lots of fun. Let us share our love of dance with your youngster. Clothing Requirement: Girls: pink leotard (short sleeved, no attached skirts), pink tights, pink ballet shoes and black patent tap shoes. Boys: White t-shirt, black shorts, socks and black ballet slippers and black tap shoes.

Children will learn basic ballet movement starting at the ballet barre and then move to center for across the floor ballet movement. They will also use dance to pretend as they act out stories using dance movement. We use a variety of music to enhance musical rhythms by clapping and listening, using stretching and improvisation while having lots of fun. Clothing Requirement: Girls: light lavender leotard (short sleeved, no attached skirts), pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Boys: White t-shirt, black shorts, socks and black ballet slippers.

Challenger Sports' British Soccer Camp is the most popular soccer camp in the country based upon one of the most innovative approaches to coaching youth soccer in the US and Canada. Our experienced staff study the game at all levels and we have identified the key techniques and skills that your players need to work on and master to reach their true potential. With programs for each age, the curriculums includes a variety of foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, freestyle soccer, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and a mini tournament play. Players also learn about our core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and leadership.

British Soccer Camp – Mini Soccer - Ages 3-5

One and a half hours a day from Monday to Friday inclusive. Young players learn and practice the fundamental skills of the game through a series of fun soccer challenges, skill-building activities and small sided games. Elements covered will include passing the ball, dribbling and controlling the ball, turning with the ball, boundaries of the field, passing to team mates and scoring in the right goal! These key skills will be developed through various themes and use of the imagination to create a high energy and positive environment for each player!

Colors of Spanish Summer Spanish Immersion Camp - Ages 4-6

For 4-6year olds, our program consists of week-long sessions, Monday thru Friday, during which students will be engaged in age appropriate, fun activities that expose children to the Spanish language through games, rhymes, stories, acting, songs, music and art. Un día típico (A typical day): Differences make life rich! Similarities make us feel at home. We’re going to explore Spanish through the culture of our Spanish speaking neighbors to the south. Activities, foods, typical celebrations will be enjoyed throughout this week of immersion. All levels of proficiency are welcome!

Skyhawks Lacrosse Camp – Ages 6-12

Lacrosse combines basic skills used in soccer, basketball and hockey into one fast-paced game. Athletes will learn the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting in a fun, non-checking environment. Sticks, Gloves and Helmet are provided. All participants receive a t-shirt, and a player evaluation. Participant-to-coach ratio is 12:1

Skyhawks Minihawks (soccer, baseball, flag football) – Ages 4-7

Our Mini-Hawk programs give children a positive first step into athletics. Baseball, Flag Football and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment filled with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun! Through games and activities, campers explore balance, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. Campers will each receive a Skyhawks soccer ball, Skyhawks T-Shirt, and merit award at the conclusion of the week. Participant-to-coach ratio is 8:1.

Skyhawks Multi-Sport Camp – Ages 6-12

August 8-12, 9:00am-12:00pm

Skyhawks has taken your favorite games from the playground and combined them into an action packed camp! Each day your young athlete will play variations of Kickball, Dodgeball, Ultimate Frisbee and Capture the Flag. Participants will learn sportsmanship, teamwork and strategy in addition to the rules of the game. Bring your friends or come make new ones. Campers will each receive a Skyhawks soccer ball, T-Shirt, and merit award at the conclusion of the week. Participant-to-coach ratio is 10:1

Pre-Engineering using LEGO® - Ages 5-6

Let your imagination run wild with tens of thousands of LEGO®! Build engineer-designed projects such as boats, bridges, mazes and motorized cars, and use special pieces to create your own unique design! Explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. This is an ideal way to prepare young builders for the challenge of Engineering FUNdamentals.

Jedi Engineering using LEGO® - Ages 5-6

The Force Awakens in this introductory engineering course for young Jedi! Explore engineering principles by designing and building projects such as LEGO® X-Wings, R2 Units, Energy Catapults, Defense Turrets, and Settlements from a galaxy far, far away. Create motorized and architectural projects with imagination and engineering to defeat the Empire!

Play-Well TEKnologies
Jedi Master Engineering using LEGO® - Ages 7-10

Teen Beach Movie - Ages 8+

Surf's up Sonoma County! It is time to sing, dance, and act in this fun musical theatre camp. All week long, students will be playing improv games, learning dances, and singing songs from the popular hit, "Teen Beach Movie." Students will create their own costumes and props (and keep them at the end of the week) and perform their version of the musical for friends and family at the end of camp! No experience necessary. Please send your child in comfortable clothing and shoes (tennis shoes or ballet shoes). No flip flops. Please send a snack and water bottle each day. Children should eat lunch before arriving to camp each day.

Star Kids Productions Musical Theatre Camp:
Annie - Ages 8+

It's the hard knock life! This whirlwind of a camp will have you singing, dancing, and acting all of your favorite songs from Annie. Students will be learning to sing, dance and act as we put together the musical Annie in a fun performance for families at the end of the week. Students will delve into their creativity by helping create the dances, and working with other actors to develop scenes. Let's put together a show in a week! No experience necessary. Please send your child in comfortable clothing and shoes (tennis shoes or ballet shoes). No flip flops. Please send a snack and water bottle each day.

Star Kids Productions Improv Playwriting Camp: - Ages 8+

Location: Mountain Room of Ray Miller Community Center

It is time to get creative! Students will develop their acting skills through a variety of improve acting games and exercises. Based on these exercises, the camp will work together to create a script for their very own play! The fun does not stop there - students will gather props and costume pieces to perform this play at the very end of camp for friends and family. Put your thinking camps on and let’s improve! No experience necessary.
