Water Conservation ProgramsFREE WATER USE SURVEYSSaving water and money just got easier. We’ll show you how! Participate in the Water Use Survey Program and receive the following services at ABSOLUTELY NO COST: Please call (707) 665-3631 to sign up for these FREE services. The City’s contractors will contact you to schedule appointments at your convenience. You must participate in both the indoor and the outdoor portion of the survey. Water Conservation Fact: New, ultra-low flow toilets are designed to use 1.6 gallons of water per flush. Older models can use between 3.5 to 7.0 gallons per flush.
RESIDENTIAL TOILET AND FIXTURE RETROFITSThe City of Cotati provides free installation of ultra low-flow toilets to Cotati water customers. To qualify to have your old toilet replaced with a new, ultra low-flow toilet, you must:
We will replace up to TWO toilets at NO CHARGE TO YOU. We will also install one water-conserving showerhead and up to three faucet aerators in your home. Please call (707) 665-3631 for an application to participate in the toilet retrofit program. TOILET REBATE PROGRAMIn lieu of the free ultra low-flow toilets offered by the City, the City will provide a $150 rebate for the replacement of up to TWO toilets that use more than 1.6 gallons per flush with an Ultra low-flow or High Efficiency toilet of your choice. The Cotati Building inspector must first confirm that the toilets being replaced meet the requirement for rebate, so please call PRIOR TO REMOVING THE TOILET(S). COMMERCIAL TOILET RETROFITSThe City of Cotati provides FREE retrofitting of toilets that use more than 1.6 gallons per flush with ultra low flow toilets to commercial water customers. The program offers a variety of types of toilets ranging from Standard Tank, Wall or Floor mount, as well as ADA Height styles. Please call (707) 665-3631 for an application to participate in this program. Water Conservation Fact: By replacing your old clothes washer with a new high-efficiency washer a family can save 5,100 gallons of water per year.
RESIDENTIAL CLOTHES WASHER REBATESEffective July 1, 2009, Cotati will offer $75 water rebates for Residential High-Efficiency Clothes Washers. The program only rebates High-Efficiency Clothes Washers that are listed as Tier 3 on the Consortium for Energy Efficiency’s Clothes Washer Product List. PG&E is also offering a rebate on Clothes Washers; don’t forget to apply for this rebate as well. QUALIFIED WATER EFFICIENT LANDSCAPERHelp save money and water by participating in the local Qualified Water-Efficient Landscaper (QWEL) education program. Through the QWEL program, which is taught in English and Spanish by local veteran garden and water conservation experts, you will become more water efficient in landscape design, maintenance, and operation. The program provides 20 hours of instruction based on principles of proper plant selection for the local climate, irrigation system design and maintenance, and irrigation system programming and operation. Or visit the official website: CASH FOR GRASS TURF REBATE PROGRAMThe City of Cotati is offering residential and commercial customers rebates in return for reducing the amount of lawn area in their landscapes and replacing with low water use landscapes. The City will rebate you $1.00 for every square foot of lawn area removed. Lawns must be automatically watered with City water and well maintained before removal.
